Chapter 350 Three people together
Chapter 350 Three people together
Chapter 349 The Three of Us Together
The morning sunlight streamed through the blinds, casting delicate golden streaks on the bedroom carpet.
The hangover headache was still lingering.
Chen Xun was awakened by Ellie's crisp shouts from outside the door.
"Brother Chen Xun, where are you?"
"Sisters, are you all up yet?"
The little girl's voice came through the door, accompanied by a series of knocks, each one closer than the last, until she was almost at the master bedroom door.
Chen Xun suddenly opened his eyes.
My mind cleared up instantly.
Just as I tried to move, I found that both my arms were being held tightly and I couldn't move.
He turned his head to the left. To his left was Christine, her short hair disheveled from sleep, her cheeks flushed from drinking. Her arms were tightly wrapped around his waist, her face buried in his shoulder, her breathing even, fast asleep.
On the right is Dakota, his blond hair spread out on the pillow, one arm draped over his chest, his long legs wrapped around his, his brows slightly furrowed, clearly not fully awake yet.
The three of them squeezed onto one big bed.
The blanket was haphazardly draped around his waist, and his clothes were scattered in various corners of the room.
Chen Xun's heart clenched suddenly.
My first reaction was relief.
When I snatched Christine's phone last night, I locked the bedroom door from the inside to prevent her from running out.
Otherwise, given Ellie's loud and boisterous personality, if she just pushed the door open and walked in, that would be truly a disaster.
He held his breath and carefully tried to move their arms apart. As soon as he moved, Christine in his arms whimpered, her eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes.
Christine, who had just woken up, was still a little dazed. After a couple of seconds of stunned silence, the scenes from last night flooded her mind, and her cheeks flushed instantly.
Just as she was about to speak, Dakota on the other side was also awakened by the noise. She opened her eyes groggily and met Christine's gaze.
The air froze instantly.
Their eyes met, and both saw shock in each other's eyes.
The next second, both of their gazes fell on Chen Xun, who was lying in the middle, trying to play dead with his eyes closed.
"ah----"
Two short screams rang out almost simultaneously.
Christine was the first to withdraw her hand, then shrank back to the side, pulling the blanket over herself tightly. Her cheeks were flushed red, and she looked at Chen Xun with a mixture of shame and anger.
Dakota quickly pulled her leg back, turned her back to straighten her disheveled pajamas, and her ears turned bright red.
Hearing the commotion outside, Ellie immediately ran to the master bedroom door, banging on it and calling out curiously, "Sister? Sister Christine? Are you in there?"
"I just heard a sound!"
"Which room is Brother Chen Xun sleeping in? I can't find it!"
This shout made the two people on the bed even more panicked.
Ellie absolutely cannot know what happened last night. If she sees this and tells her family, then we're completely finished.
The two of them didn't bother to settle scores with Chen Xun anymore. They turned around in unison and attacked Chen Xun, who was pretending to be dead.
Christine reached out and pinched his waist hard, while Dakota retaliated by pinching the soft flesh on his arm.
Two iron clamp-like forces fell simultaneously.
hiss~
The pain made Chen Xun stiffen all over, he gasped, and gritted his teeth, not daring to make a sound. Cold sweat instantly broke out on his forehead.
"Stop playing dead! Think of something quick!"
Christine lowered her voice and hissed at him through gritted teeth.
"Ellie is still outside, you'd better get out now!"
Dakota urged him on in a low voice, squeezing his hand harder.
Chen Xun winced in pain, but could only nod repeatedly, carefully prying their hands apart, and then jumped off the bed after lifting the blanket.
Hangover and the ordeal of last night made his legs weak when he landed, and he almost fell. He quickly grabbed the bedside table for support.
He frantically picked up the clothes scattered on the ground and hurriedly put them on.
Christine, wrapped in a blanket, pointed to the wall next to the wardrobe and whispered a reminder: "Go to the next room through the secret door."
Chen Xun was familiar with this route.
When they first moved in, Chen Xun would pretend to go back to the bedroom with Christine, and then return to his own room through a secret door.
Chen Xun put on his shirt and pants, not even bothering to button them properly, then crouched down and ran to the hidden door. He glanced back at the two people who were frantically making the bed and tidying their clothes, opened the hidden door, slipped inside, and gently closed the door behind him.
Reaching the guest room next door, Chen Xun breathed a sigh of relief, leaned against the wall to catch his breath, looked down at his wrinkled clothes and the more noticeable red mark on the side of his neck, and rubbed his temples helplessly.
In the master bedroom, Christine and Dakota breathed a sigh of relief as they watched the hidden door close.
The two exchanged a glance, both seeing embarrassment and awkwardness in each other's eyes. They turned their heads away simultaneously, hurriedly dressed themselves, and quickly tidied the messy bed, cleaning up all the traces scattered on the floor.
The window was opened, as if afraid of leaving the slightest clue.
After confirming that there was nothing unusual in the room, the two tidied their messy hair, took a deep breath, and Christine went forward to open the locked door.
Ellie was clinging to the doorway when it opened, almost leaping inside. She wrinkled her little nose, sniffed hard into the room, and looked up at the two of them with a puzzled expression: "Huh? What's that smell in here? It's weird."
Christine's face flushed instantly. She coughed lightly, reached out and ruffled Ellie's hair, forcibly changing the subject: "What does it taste like?"
"You're probably still smelling of alcohol from last night. Why are you up so early? Are you hungry?"
"I've been awake for a while!"
Ellie skipped in, looked around, and didn't see Chen Xun anywhere. "Where's Brother Chen Xun? I've looked everywhere and can't find him. Isn't he inside?"
Dakota composed herself and said casually, "He should have gotten up a while ago. Maybe he went to the kitchen to get some water. We just woke up too."
Just as the two were racking their brains to find a way to change the subject, footsteps came from the corridor.
Chen Xun yawned as he walked out of another guest room.
She had changed into a clean shirt, and her hair was casually tousled, making her look like she had just woken up. She walked to the master bedroom door, looked at the three people inside, and asked with feigned surprise, "Why are you all standing here, Ellie? Why are you up so early?"
The moment Ellie saw him, all her previous doubts vanished. Her eyes lit up, and she rushed over, grabbing his arm and shaking it: "Brother Chen Xun! You're awake! I'm hungry! Shall we go out for brunch?"
"I want to eat those famous Eggs Benedict; my sister says they're amazing!"
Chen Xun smiled and ruffled her hair, then looked past the little girl and exchanged a glance with Christine and Dakota in the room.
The two of them were both annoyed and amused by his nonchalant attitude, and rolled their eyes at him in unison.
"Okay, whatever you say."
Chen Xun agreed to Ellie's request, looked down at the girl, and said, "Go wash up and change your clothes first. We'll get ready and head out."
"Yay!"
Ellie cheered and skipped off to the guest bathroom, completely unaware of the thrilling scene that had just unfolded.
As Ellie ran away, the living room fell silent instantly.
Chen Xun leaned against the wall, watching Christine and Dakota walk out. He touched his nose and was about to say something when Christine glared at him.
"They're putting on quite a convincing act."
Christine raised an eyebrow at him, her gaze falling on the red marks on the side of his neck that weren't covered up.
Dakota walked over and lightly touched the mark on his neck with her fingertips, her eyes filled with a mischievous glint, yet also with lingering affection: "Weren't you quite fierce last night? How come you didn't even dare to breathe after being pinched twice just now?"
Chen Xun smiled helplessly and shrugged: "I can't exactly say something in front of Ellie, can I?"
'
"Besides, who pushed me first last night, and who kissed me first?"
"You still dare to say that?"
Christine stepped forward and reached out to pinch him, but Chen Xun grabbed her wrist with a smile.
The three of them stood very close, the scent of last night still lingering in their nostrils, and the atmosphere instantly became ambiguous again.
Just then, Ellie's singing came from the bathroom, and the two quickly took a step back, creating some distance between them, both looking a little awkward.
"Alright, hurry up and get ready, or that little girl will come and urge you again."
Dakota looked away and turned to walk towards the guest room: "I'm going to wash my face and change my clothes. It'll only take ten minutes."
Christine withdrew her hand, glared at Chen Xun but it wasn't very intimidating. She turned and walked towards the kitchen, saying, "I'll get you some water. Hurry up, don't keep Ellie waiting."
Chen Xun watched the two figures disappear into the distance, smiled to himself, touched his still slightly aching waist and arms, and shook his head helplessly.
Chen Xun was driving, and Ellie, in the passenger seat, was peering out the window, chattering away and pointing at the shops along the roadside.
Christine and Dakota, sitting in the back, leaned back in their seats, occasionally chiming in with a few words.
The atmosphere was relaxed and harmonious, completely eliminating the awkwardness of waking up in the morning.
The car was parked in front of Los Angeles' most popular brunch spot.
As soon as the engine was turned off, Ellie eagerly pushed open the car door, jumped out, and grabbed Chen Xun's arm, resting her head on his arm like a clingy little tail: "Brother Chen Xun, hurry up, hurry up! I heard there's a line for Eggs Benedict here!"
Chen Xun smiled as he locked the car, letting the little girl pull him forward. He raised his hand to press down on his baseball cap and then pulled his mask up higher.
He is currently at the peak of his global popularity, having just won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, and the news of him starring in Spider-Man is spreading like wildfire. He can't help but be recognized wherever he goes.
Christine and Dakota got out of the car behind them.
Both of them were wearing sunglasses and masks, and they followed side by side behind.
Watching Ellie skipping and jumping with Chen Xun in front of her, Dakota turned her head, raised an eyebrow at Christine, and teased in a low voice, "Looking at him, he doesn't seem guilty at all."
Christine smirked, a hint of amusement in her eyes, and retorted in a low voice, "It's better than some people who were incredibly bold last night when they left marks on his neck."
Dakota wasn't annoyed; he just smiled and shrugged.
After last night's chaos and entanglement, the barriers between Chen Xun and them seemed to vanish overnight.
The awkwardness that came with the breakup between him and Christine has completely disappeared. The tacit understanding when they look at each other and the familiarity when they talk make it seem as if they have returned to the days when they lived together and were very close.
The long-standing estrangement between Dakota and Dakota has been broken, and the feelings hidden in their hearts no longer need to be concealed.
