Chapter 23 Communication
Chapter 23 Communication
Haidilao, which has been around for 16 years, still offers excellent service, and the hot pot base and dishes are served very quickly.
The hot pot was placed on the table, the spicy side was bright red, with chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns floating on the oil, bubbling and steaming, the hot air carrying the aroma of numbing spiciness straight into the nose.
The clear broth was milky white, with goji berries and red dates gently swaying on top of the noodles.
The waiters brought dishes to the table one after another, and soon the table was full.
Zhou Ye loves hot pot and keeps adding vegetables to the pot.
Her little mouth never stops!
While eating, he chatted with Wang Zian.
Asking this and that; he not only recounted all the interesting stories from his art exams.
They even asked about Wang Zian's family situation.
However, their family's education is really good. Zhou Ye's sister rarely spoke throughout the entire process, only interjecting a word or two at crucial moments.
Even though Wang Zian said that his parents were just ordinary people, the two sisters didn't look at him with any strange eyes.
As he continued asking questions, Zhou Ye inquired about Wang Zi'an's art exam.
"Wang Zian, how are your preparations for the third exam going?" Zhou Ye put his chopsticks on the rim of his bowl and casually picked up his plum juice and took a sip.
A small mountain of shrimp shells had already piled up next to her bowl, and she had used up several tissues.
Wang Zian wiped his mouth and put down his chopsticks.
"To be honest, I didn't prepare for the exam!"
"Ah~!"
His words shocked not only Zhou Ye, but also Zhou Siqi.
"Why?!"
Zhou Ye's almond-shaped eyes were filled with surprise.
"You did so well, even the teachers remembered you; you'll definitely get into the Beijing Film Academy!"
Zhou Siqi looked at her younger sister in surprise. She hadn't expected this handsome young man to perform so well in the art exam!
"You're the same way!" Wang Zi'an laughed; "Those teachers looked at you more intently than they looked at the other students!"
"Really?" Zhou Ye's attention shifted.
"Of course! Look at your own face! Even the teachers checking makeup at the school gate praised it!"
Zhou Ye thought about it and realized it seemed so; a smug smile instantly appeared on his lips.
However, she quickly realized what was happening.
"You're the same way!! The other day at the gate, the teacher and the senior students were full of praise for you!"
As she spoke, she looked at Wang Zi'an's face.
Prince An was watching him.
For no apparent reason, Zhou Ye's face turned red.
Zhou Siqi was secretly watching the two of them from the side; she had been listening the whole time.
When she heard that Wang Zi'an was from an ordinary family, she had some doubts.
After all, from his speech to his manner of dealing with people and things, Wang Zian was reasonable, well-founded, and calm. He didn't seem like an ordinary person's child at all.
Since Wang Zian said his family was an ordinary family, she would accept that.
Zhou Siqi picked up the lemon water, took a sip, and swallowed the water she hadn't finished earlier.
"If that's the case, then the chances of you two passing the second round of interviews are very high." She gently placed the cup on the table and traced a circle on the rim of the cup with her finger.
Prince An nodded.
He looked at Zhou Ye, whose blush had just faded a little. She was looking down as she picked up the shrimp paste she had poked in the bowl and hesitantly put it into her mouth.
"Zhou Ye will definitely go! Her face is perfect for movies!"
Zhou Ye stopped using his chopsticks to put shrimp paste into his mouth.
When Zhou Ye heard Wang Zian praise her appearance, her eyes curved into two crescent moons; the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't straighten them.
My heart suddenly felt warm!
"Zi'an, where are you from?"
"From Yangcheng, Yuzhou Province!"
"What a historic place! No wonder they look like they've read a lot of books!"
Wang Zian explained with a smile, "I've just loved reading since I was a child, especially history books!"
"By the way," Zhou Ye suddenly slammed his chopsticks on the table, making a crisp sound as they hit the bowl, "what did you mean when you said you weren't planning to go to the Beijing Film Academy?"
She was a few beats slow to react, but she eventually figured it out.
She stared at Wang Zi'an, wanting to know why he wasn't going to the Beijing Film Academy.
Unable to bear being stared at by the two men any longer, Wang Zian had no choice but to reveal the reason why he had come to Beijing Film Academy to take the exam.
After a long while, the atmosphere at Wang Zian's table became very silent.
Only the bottom of the pot was still bubbling away.
The spicy broth had already thickened, and the peppercorns were rolling around on the oil noodles.
A thin layer of white foam floated on the clear broth; it was time to add more broth.
But no one moved.
The waiter stood at a distance, watching the silence at the table, hesitating whether to come over and add more soup.
···
Zhou Ye and Zhou Siqi stared at him blankly, as if they had just heard something from a movie.
"This is why I came to Beijing Film Academy! It wasn't part of my plan; I never intended to come here!"
"You just wanted to buy a few roast ducks!" Zhou Ye's voice rose, filled with disbelief; "and then you went to the Beijing Film Academy! And you were about to pass the second round of auditions!"
"And your recitation and singing are so good, how can there be such an outrageous person!"
She put her chopsticks on the table, leaned back in her chair, and stared blankly at the ceiling.
Wang Zian shrugged; "It's just something I've accumulated over time!"
He wouldn't tell anyone that he had a cheat code that enhanced his soul's memory energy.
"Does Wang Zian sing well?" Zhou Siqi asked.
"It sounds wonderful!" Zhou Ye sprang back from the back of his chair, nodding his head like a little bird pecking at rice.
Her ponytail swayed with her movements, and she didn't even notice a few stray hairs falling from her ears.
"Sis, you're a fan of Zhou Jielun, right? Wang Zi'an sings 'Stranded' even better than Zhou Jielun; Zhou Jielun's high notes are way higher!"
Wang Zian picked up the plum juice, lowered his head, and took a sip.
Zhou Jielun doesn't have any high notes!
"And that song 'Mountain'!" Zhou Ye said, getting more and more excited.
"Mountain? What's that?"
"It's a poem by Chairman Mao!"
Zhou Ye began to recite, "The mountain, the horse gallops on without dismounting. Startled, I turn around and see it is only three feet and three inches from the sky."
In the examination room, it was the first time she had heard this poem, but its magnificent, powerful, and uplifting spirit gave her some courage, which had made her a little nervous.
I didn't know what that feeling was like at the time, but I figured it out later.
She was inspired by this poem.
So even though she only heard it once, it left a deep impression on her, and she immediately searched for the poem after the exam.
I searched online for a long time, but the recitations by those masters I found all had a nostalgic, historical feel to them.
It lacked the powerful and overwhelming feeling of Wang Zi'an's recitation.
This made her realize how capable Prince An was.
"One of the three poems in the 'Sixteen-Character Poems,' the one about mountains!" Wang Zian couldn't help but explain, "I really like Chairman Mao's poems!"
Zhou Siqi glanced at Wang Zian with surprise.
A child of this age actually likes his poems.
Shouldn't we all be struggling with the ancient poems in our Chinese textbooks, which are all exam focus points, requiring us to memorize every single line, and then understand the thoughts and feelings the author was expressing?
It seems that the boy her sister met is indeed someone with his own ideas.
"Pretty good!" Zhou Siqi said three words, but her nod was a little bigger than before.
"Which university do you want to apply to?" Zhou Siqi asked. She studied fashion design in Europe and opened a fashion design company after returning to China.
