Chapter 32 Add Friends
Chapter 32 Add Friends
Liu Haocun stood there, like a fawn suddenly pushed into the middle of an open field.
Her shoulders were slightly hunched, and her chest heaved a little faster than before, each breath turning into a small cloud of white mist in the cold February air.
"It's nothing!" she said, glancing back at her classmate.
When Liu Haochun turned around, several classmates smiled and gave her a thumbs-up.
Prince An also noticed this action.
He saw the girls huddled around the pancake stall, craning their necks to peek in his direction.
As soon as they saw Wang Zian's gaze sweep over them, they all lowered their heads at the same time, like a row of wheat ears blown down by the wind, and all began to pretend to study the menu posted on the pancake stall. There were only a few items on the menu, and they didn't know what was so interesting to study.
"Did your classmate ask you to come and get their contact information?"
Liu Haochun nodded, looking somewhat aggrieved.
Wang Zian glanced at the girl in front of him, then at the four or five female students opposite him, and a smile suddenly appeared on his lips. "Can I add you on WeChat?"
Liu Haochun paused for a second, a hint of surprise flashing in his doe-like eyes.
She blinked, her eyelashes fluttering twice, as if to make sure she hadn't misheard.
"My name is Wang Zi'an, what's your name?"
"Liu Haochun~!"
The name seemed familiar; he vaguely knew it would become famous and appear on many people's screens.
But the person standing in front of him now was completely different from the vague figure in his memory; he looked so young!
"Are you a dancer?"
Liu Haochun nodded. "I studied folk dance!"
Her voice carried a hint of pride, and when she spoke of her profession, the nervousness in her eyes lessened, replaced by a more grounded and confident demeanor.
"Alright then! Let's add each other on WeChat, that way you can explain it to your friends!"
Wang Zian took out his phone, displayed the QR code, and turned the screen towards her.
Liu Haocun lowered his head and took out his cell phone from his pocket.
Her phone case was transparent, and inside was a small Polaroid photo; it looked like a picture of her with someone in the practice room.
She tapped her finger a few times on the screen and scanned the QR code.
With a "beep", a friend request popped up.
WeChat name: Liu Doudou.
Looking at the friends he had added on his phone, Liu Haocun's lips curled into a sweet smile.
When she smiles, her doe eyes curve into two small crescent moons, and the downward curve at the corners of her eyes becomes more pronounced. Her whole face changes from a tense and strained state to a bright and soft one.
"Thank you!" she said, tilting her head back and looking at him with bright eyes.
She wasn't thanking him for adding her on WeChat, but for not embarrassing him.
He knew she had been pushed there by her classmates, so he took the initiative to speak up and gave her a way out so she could go back and explain herself.
He saw everything, and then quietly pulled her out of her predicament.
"You're welcome!" Wang Zian put his phone back in his pocket.
Liu Haocun turned around and ran towards her classmates.
Her steps were lighter than before, and her ponytail swayed freely behind her, the ends of her hair bobbing back and forth like a small flag.
The hem of her creamy white down jacket fluttered gently with her steps, and a corner of her scarf was lifted by the wind.
Wang Zian watched her run back, and the girls immediately surrounded her, chattering and bursting into laughter; some even turned around and waved to Wang Zian.
This city looks big, but it's actually quite small.
You can meet future stars anywhere.
Wang Zian looked in the direction they disappeared and smiled.
Then he looked down at his phone and saw a newly added friend: "Liu Doudou~!"
That's an interesting name!
But isn't her name Liu Haochun?
The profile picture is also very interesting.
It's a photo of her tilting her head, squinting, and smiling, against a backdrop of autumn ginkgo trees, their golden leaves carpeting the ground. A few strands of hair are loosely falling around her ears, blowing gently across her face in the wind.
She squinted her eyes, smiled, revealing a small row of teeth, and looked radiant and sunny, completely different from the girl who had been nervously wringing her fingers in front of him just moments before.
It looks kind of cute!
So cute!
Wang Zian stared at the profile picture for a few seconds, trying to search his mind for more information about the name "Liu Haocun".
Eleven years have passed since the memories that awakened when I was seven years old.
Some memories were selectively forgotten in the long course of daily life, like old photos pressed at the bottom of a box, which would never be recalled unless they were taken out.
Only when certain keywords are seen, such as an entertainment news item popping up on a phone screen, do those forgotten memories suddenly resurface like a triggered mechanism.
For example, when he saw Yang Mi's marriage trending on social media, he remembered that she would get divorced in the future.
When I saw the rumors about Liu Shishi and the older man, I remembered that the two of them seemed to be married.
I just saw Liu Haochun and vaguely remembered what major event this girl would encounter in the future.
But I just can't remember exactly what it was.
After thinking about it, I feel that it has nothing to do with me for the time being.
Wang Zian shook his head, trying to shake that vague impression out of his mind.
"What are you looking at?"
Another voice suddenly came from behind him, so close it seemed to be speaking right next to his ear.
Wang Zian suddenly turned his head.
Zhou Ye stood behind him, still wearing that long black down jacket, the zipper pulled up to his chin, his high ponytail tied tightly.
She was very close to him, probably only a step away.
She tilted her head, her gaze sliding from his face to the phone in his hand, her eyes gleaming with a curiosity that she tried to suppress but couldn't.
"Wow, you walk so quietly!" Wang Zian instinctively pulled his phone back into his pocket; he was genuinely startled.
Zhou Ye blushed slightly, feeling a little embarrassed.
She had just come out of the gate of the Beijing Dance Academy when she immediately saw Wang Zian standing under the street lamp.
Suddenly, I felt like playing a prank and decided to sneak up behind him and scare him.
However, upon closer inspection, I noticed he was engrossed in his phone, which piqued my curiosity.
"No way! You're just too engrossed in your phone!" she retorted stubbornly.
Wang Zian noticed that her gaze was glancing at his phone screen; that gaze swept across his screen quickly, secretly, and seemingly casually.
He casually pressed the screen-off button on his phone, and after the screen went black, he put the phone in his pocket.
"Alright! Let's go inside!"
Seeing how readily he put his phone away, Zhou Ye felt an even stronger itch to gossip.
She opened her mouth, almost asking, "Who was that profile picture just now?", but swallowed the words back.
She and Wang Zian have known each other for less than a week, they've only added each other on WeChat and had hot pot together; today she even asked him for help.
She was too embarrassed to ask.
"Let's go! I only rented that classroom for one morning!"
