Chapter 81: Bingbing Helps Bingbing
Chapter 81: Bingbing Helps Bingbing
Huayi Building.
The corridor on the twelfth floor.
Wang Zhonglei stood between the two groups of people, his face ashen.
"Raising a hand in the company! Do you guys think Huayi is a vegetable market?!"
He first shouted at the onlookers to disperse.
A group of assistants, makeup artists, and PR staff peered around, but were startled by the shout and shrank back, only taking a half-inch step back; none of them actually left.
In the end, it took several male agents to come over and persuade them to disperse the group.
The corridor was mostly empty.
Overturned potted plants lay on the ground, soil scattered everywhere, and the paintings on the wall were knocked askew.
Young Master Zhou sat on the sofa, three bloody marks clearly visible on his neck, and two buttons on his shirt collar were torn open.
Chen Kun stood beside her, silent, his face as stiff as iron.
Agent Shen Chang squatted in front of the sofa, holding an ice pack in her hand, and carefully applied it to the wound.
Wang Zhonglei bent down to examine his injuries, his brow furrowing in worry.
"Go to the hospital first. Don't leave a scar. Keep a low profile and don't let reporters take pictures."
Shen Chang quickly nodded: "Don't worry, Mr. Wang, I'll arrange a car right away."
Wang Zhonglei straightened up and walked to the other end.
Fan Binbin sat on a folding stool against the wall.
There were also scratches on her face, though they were shallower, but the one on her left cheek was oozing blood.
Zhang Chuanmei gently pressed a tissue against the wound, her hand trembling slightly.
Fan Binbin didn't cry or complain of pain; she stared straight at Zhou Xun opposite her, showing no sign of weakness.
Wang Zhonglei looked at her for a while, then spoke in a much colder tone: "Go to the hospital too."
Just as Zhang Chuanmei was about to agree, she suddenly heard the sound of low-heeled shoes stepping on the marble floor.
Crisp, steady, unhurried.
It was Li Binbin who came out of the office.
She was wearing a dark blue suit, her hair pulled back, and her gaze swept from one end of the corridor to the other.
The dust swept from Zhou Xun to Fan Bingbing, from the mess on the ground to the bent plant stand.
Then she walked straight up to Fan Binbin.
Everyone was stunned for a moment.
Fan Binbin looked up, his eyes first showing wariness, then confusion.
Li Binbin looked down at the injury on her face, then turned and called out to his assistant:
"It's not serious, no need to go to the hospital. It wouldn't be good for anyone if reporters took pictures. I have a first-aid kit in my office. Xiao Liu, go get it. Quickly."
Assistant Xiao Liu ran off.
Fan Binbin looked at her, his lips moved slightly. After a long pause, he managed to squeeze out two words: "Thank you."
His voice was a little hoarse.
Li Binbin didn't respond to the thank you, but instead asked an even more unexpected question: "Did you call Director Wei? He would be heartbroken to see you beaten like this."
The volume was just right, not too loud or too soft, enough for the other end to hear.
Young Master Zhou glanced over here, especially at Li Binbin.
Her eyes were cold, but she didn't say anything. She took the ice pack off her neck and stuffed it back into Shen Chang's hand.
"I'm not going to the hospital. I have a first-aid kit in my office. And..."
She paused, lowering her voice to make sure everyone in the corridor could hear her clearly:
"Go check the security footage. The hallway cameras should have captured the whole thing. It's crystal clear who started it; lying won't change anything!"
These words weren't just spoken to Shen Chang; they were meant for everyone.
The air grew tense again.
Li Binbin turned to face Zhou Gongzi, his voice soft but his enunciation extremely clear: "Of course we can look at the surveillance footage. But what about the recording? There's no recording in the hallway. Who's right and wrong can't just be determined by who started it, can it?"
Young Master Zhou stopped what he was doing.
She looked at Li Binbin but did not immediately refute him.
Because what Li Binbin said was true.
The surveillance camera only displays video; there is no audio.
The footage only shows Fan Binbin pushing the person first, but it's impossible to hear what Zhou Xun said before she pushed the person.
The corridor fell silent for a few seconds.
A thin layer of sweat had already appeared on Wang Zhonglei's forehead. Standing between the two women, he felt as if he were standing between two planets about to collide.
He opened his mouth as if to say something, but then swallowed it back.
At this moment, Fan Binbin realized what was happening and picked up the phone to make the call.
"Wei Yi, something happened to me at Huayi."
"It's like this, I..."
"..."
While Fan Binbin was on the phone.
Two figures huddled quietly in a corner near the entrance to the tea room on the twelfth floor.
Huo Siyan lowered her voice, her gaze sweeping back and forth across the corridor: "I'm a step too late, I didn't see how the fight went. What a pity."
Standing beside her, Li Xiaolu crossed her arms, a smirk playing on her lips as if she were watching a good show. "Looks pretty heavy. By the way, why is Li Binbin on her side now? Aren't they usually at loggerheads?"
"It's not that she's on her side," Huo Siyan narrowed her eyes. "It's that she doesn't want to side with Zhou Gongzi. And it might also be related to the person behind Fan Binbin."
Li Xiaolu fell silent. She slowly nodded.
A little while later, Li Binbin's assistant, Xiao Liu, jogged over with the first-aid kit.
Li Binbin took it but didn't do it himself. He handed it to Li Xue behind him and explained to Fan Binbin, "My sister has learned some basic nursing skills. She's more professional in this area than I am."
Li Xue understood and quickly walked up to Fan Binbin, forcing a smile: "Sister Binbin, let me help you with this."
Fan Binbin hesitated for a second, then released Zhang Chuanmei's hand and nodded slightly, "Thank you!"
Li Xue opened the medicine box, took out cotton swabs and iodine, and gently applied them to Fan Binbin's face.
Fan Binbin turned his head to cooperate, but his eyes were still fixed on Zhou Xun out of the corner of his eye.
Young Master Zhou did not move.
She watched Li Binbin, watched Li Xue apply medicine to Fan Binbin, watched the sweat on Wang Zhonglei's forehead, then slowly stood up and said to Shen Chang, "Let's go."
He turned and walked towards his lounge.
Chen Kun followed behind her, remaining silent the entire time.
The corridor finally loosened up a bit.
Wang Zhonglei wiped his sweat with a handkerchief, turned to look at Li Binbin, then at Fan Binbin, his lips moved, but he finally managed to utter only one sentence: "Go back to your rooms first, and stop making a scene."
No one responded to him.
At that moment, a door to a lounge at the end of the corridor opened a crack.
Huang Xiaoming came out, followed closely by his agent.
He kept his eyes straight ahead and walked quickly, as if he was rushing to some announcement.
As he walked down the corridor, he brushed past everyone without giving a second glance to anyone.
Back in his lounge, as soon as the door closed, he took out his phone and started typing rapidly.
"Director Wei, don't worry. Bingbing's injuries aren't serious. Young Master Zhou is more seriously injured and has lost more blood. Li Binbin said a few words in her defense. The corridor surveillance footage might be inaccurate for Bingbing; there's only video and no sound. Come quickly."
send.
The screen displays "Delivered".
He exhaled, placed his phone face down on the coffee table, and sat on the sofa staring at the ceiling.
A moment later, he picked up his phone again, found Wei Yi's number, hesitated for half a second, and ultimately did not dial it.
Fifth floor of Hehuan Film and Television.
Wei Yi had just hung up on Fan Binbin when his phone vibrated again.
Huang Xiaoming's text message appeared on the screen.
After reading the contents, he put down his teacup, stood up, and grabbed his coat from the back of the chair.
Mu Tingting looked up from her computer: "What's wrong?"
"I have something to take care of, I need to go to Huayi."
Wei Yi walked to the door, glanced back at her, and said, "You continue practicing your priest. I'll come back tonight and we'll run dungeons together."
Mu Tingting bit her lip and didn't say anything more.
I watched him push open the door and leave, his footsteps fading into the distance on the stairs.
She turned her head and saw the undead priest on the screen standing in Orgrimmar, lost in thought.
Yang Mi, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke softly, "Sister Tingting, are we still doing the dungeon?"
Mu Tingting did not answer.
She just glanced again at the door that Wei Yi had closed.
