Chapter 11 The Dwarves' and the Guild's Proposal
Chapter 11 The Dwarves' and the Guild's Proposal
Micah stayed in the Adventurers' Guild lobby today specifically to wait for Otto.
How could I possibly let that good-for-nothing get ahead of me?
Taking this opportunity, Micah immediately introduced himself.
"You can probably guess from my height that I am a dwarf."
Although I haven't attained a suitable extraordinary profession, my skills are quite good, and I run a blacksmith's workshop and an inn in town.
Before Otto could even speak, his "animal friends" couldn't contain their impatience.
The black cat narrowed its eyes, seemingly convinced that Micah, with his dwarven blood, was its prey!
The brown bear roared, eager for a proper fight with the dwarf!
But the monkeys told everyone not to rush, as this was their first time seeing dwarves, and the most important thing was to perform the dissection first!
"What kind of demon balls have I raised?!"
Otto felt like he had raised a bunch of berserkers who, when in doubt, wanted to start a fight!
However, Otto also noticed something unusual during this opportunity.
Just like a monkey couldn't figure out Eileen's extraordinary profession.
His "animal friends" also seemed to only realize that Micah was a dwarf after he got close.
At least yesterday, they did not discover Micah's bloodline.
Clearly, this can be considered a constraint of level.
Fortunately, there are still "Animal Friends" who feel sorry for Otto.
[The white dog said that the dwarf bloodline gave Micah strength and vitality far exceeding that of ordinary people, so it was best to be careful.]
But the black sheep pursed its lips, thinking the white dog was just trying to curry favor with Otto and wasn't sociable at all!
Amidst the antics of "Animal Friends," Otto seemed to have noticed something amiss.
Although Micah did not obtain a superhuman profession, judging from how easily he could deal with that big guy, the attribute bonuses brought by his bloodline must be extraordinary.
No wonder he looks down on inferior supernatural professions.
"Is this the advantage of bloodline?"
Otto was somewhat looking forward to seeing if his "animal friends" could achieve similar results after breaking free from those so-called constraints.
While Otto was arguing with his "animal friends," Micah had already resumed his recruitment efforts.
"Joining our adventurer party is much easier than starting from scratch with other adventurers of the same level, and we can also provide you with some appropriate assistance."
Furthermore, once you join the team, I can take charge of forging your weapons and give you a good discount.
Alternatively, I can find you a place to stay at a hotel, which will also be at a discount.
Of course, you can also live in the dormitory in the forging workshop if you wish.
The members of the adventurer's party all live there.
At this point, Micah glanced at the large figure in the distance.
"Of course, those two impatient idiots have already moved out."
Clearly, as a former member of Micah's team, the big guy and his companions used to live in the accommodations provided by Micah.
However, Otto was puzzled as to why Micah seemed to harbor such resentment towards that big guy.
Seemingly noticing Otto's confusion, Micah then explained.
"Our adventurer team is a versatile team that takes on all kinds of missions."
But those two idiots went and teamed up with other people to form a new squad for a low-level, inferior supernatural profession.
I was already being very lenient by not killing him outright.
As Micah finished speaking, he gulped down the ale in his glass.
He pushed another glass in front of Otto, waiting for his reply.
At that moment, Otto saw black, white, and blue mist emanating from Micah's body.
The mixed fog gave Otto some confidence.
Clearly, Micah's squad was at least not a bad choice, and even had a bit of luck.
Seeing this, Otto immediately picked up his glass and, imitating Micah, drank the ale in one gulp.
Otto did not have the habit of drinking in the morning.
In addition, the nosebleed caused by using the Lamplight Eye made him feel that this glass of wine was quite difficult to swallow!
But this did not affect Otto's reply.
"I'm in!"
After hearing Otto's reply, Micah finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He led Otto to the reception room and found Irene, who was still selecting fellow adventurers of the same level for Otto.
After the two explained the situation, Eileen immediately registered Otto.
"Congratulations on becoming a full member of the Dragonbreaker Blade Squad."
It was only at this moment that Otto learned the official name of Micah's squad.
Otto was puzzled by the name; did Micah's ideal be to kill a dragon?
Micah simply responded calmly.
"Indeed, someone asked me that when I was filling out the form back then."
Have you ever been a dragon? Some of this is just random writing and assumptions!
They actually dared to dream of shattering the defenses of a top-tier fantasy species?
But Micah just shrugged.
"Perhaps this is one of the benefits of being a long-lived species."
I have seen adventurers slaying dragons.
That was decades ago.
I still can't forget the incredible sight of the adventurers pulling the dragon down from the heavens.
As Micah reminisced about the past, Eileen quietly reminded Otto.
"Although Micah looks a bit old, that's how dwarves are."
He's probably equivalent to a human in their early twenties.
Clearly, Erin, who came from a big city, was already used to people with rare bloodlines like Micah.
However, dwarves are still relatively rare in adventurers' guilds in rural towns like Oak Town.
Therefore, Eileen reminded Otto that he didn't need to be too reserved when facing Micah.
While Micah was lost in his memories, recounting his past, a bored Eileen was already confirming other important points with Otto.
"Based on your performance, you are qualified to take the knowledge classes, arithmetic classes, and specialty classes offered by the Adventurers' Guild."
There are three classes per week, and each class costs ten copper Thorns.
Starting the day after tomorrow, classes will be held once every two days.
Otto was somewhat annoyed by these words.
He had worked so hard to earn thirty copper Thorns, and he just spent them like that!
But Eileen just patted Otto on the shoulder, signaling him to get used to it as soon as possible.
"Welcome to the world of adventurers."
While comforting Otto, Eileen took out a list.
"While some geniuses are born with certain expertise, most people acquire it through training and learning."
Choose a mentor to begin your training.
After speaking, Eileen immediately showed the list to Otto.
The records primarily document adventurers who were willing to become mentors.
They either work part-time to earn extra money or become contracted exclusive mentors.
This can be considered a benefit provided by the Adventurers' Guild for experienced adventurers.
Otto looked at the list in front of him and, without hesitation, gave his answer.
"I wish to receive instruction in swordsmanship."
