Chapter 2748 - 916: Drowning at Midnight (Part 3)
You can’t say this attack is useless; at the very least, a shell with destructive kinetic energy hitting a demigod can make a noise. And by sheer luck, the dogshit luck exploded, and the shell fired by the idle hand landed right in the middle of Silver Wolf’s head.
This time, it really hurts.
Helsun jumped up and down in place, providing Murphy with the opportunity. He activated the rocket propulsion of his power armor, charging like a burning giant into the battlefield.
"Mannis!"
"Coming."
The earthy yellow stream of time exploded like a bomb on Helsun, freezing her in a wide-open posture in time. Murphy didn’t aim for the head this time; the Silver Wolf has three heads, hitting one by one would take forever!
But she only has one heart...
So, aim at the heart. Energy overload mode · Ultra · Destruction Combo initiated!
"Boom boom boom boom"
Four steel fists, two big and two small, under Murphy’s direct control, struck with overwhelming speed at the Silver Wolf’s heart at twenty punches per second.
This bloody rain is so terrifying, yet so familiar, that the watching players couldn’t help but give Sir Murphy’s killer move some precise voice effects.
"Za Warudo!!"
"Ora ora ora ora!"
Amid their celebratory cheers and peculiar sound effects, two seconds flew by.
The power armor’s strong strike module, due to repeated overclocking in a short time, even emitted white high-temperature energy smoke, indicating that it urgently needed maintenance after the battle. Nonetheless, the effect of this ultimate combo, sacrificing the module’s lifespan, was excellent.
The Silver Wolf’s ribs were completely broken, and the fractured bones repeatedly pierced her demigod heart under the heavy blows.
Such injuries, even for an ultimate creature like her, are lethal. Thus, before Murphy’s eyes, the Silver Wolf fell to the ground, her four paws limp after falling from the sky. She struggled to rise, but each exertion made her spew blood from her three mouths.
"Dwarf over there! Lend me your weapon!"
Murphy shouted, and Regent Lord Baldur, though disliking the term, glanced at the power armor that had knocked down the Silver Wolf, swallowed his dissatisfaction, and threw the giant hunting war halberd over to Murphy, who caught it mid-air.
Although baffled why a dwarf would use such a massive hunting war halberd, the thing seemed just the right size when held by the War Marshal. Murphy strode forward, placing his left foot on the Silver Wolf’s body, and stored energy to stab the war halberd into her spine.
A weapon used by the Frost Dwarf Lord is certainly not ordinary; it is undoubtedly one of Gaia’s divine relics. The moment the blade touched the fur, the Power of the Earth activated, and the double-strike tore open the resilient flesh wedged into the bones. Under the power armor’s full force, it pierced the Silver Wolf’s heart a second time.
This made Helsun feel death approaching.
Her temporary struggle even pushed Murphy and his power armor away, yet closely following, Winter Wolf Aelius lunged, opening his bloody maw, and bit onto Elder Sister’s neck, performing a classic reenactment of his own torn-apart death earlier, in the death thrashes tearing her throat out.
Murphy, pushed back, maneuvered his power armor to stand. He happened to see a Nord-style double-handed ironclad war hammer beside him, likely the weapon of the Great Wilderness Legion General Yevgeny, who was bitten to death by the Silver Wolf.
Since fate placed it at his hand, Murphy didn’t hesitate.
He grabbed the heavy thing, disassembled the temporarily shut-down siege hammer component, and went into a lightly armed stance after the heavy backpack crashed to the ground, wielding the war hammer, moving forward to smash down on Helsun’s remaining head.
Just like the angriest reaction when meeting a stray dog, aiming at the dog’s head slammed down solves the issue.
The first, second time, accompanied by curses and shouts.
The third, fourth time, only anguished wails remained.
The fifth, sixth time, amid the backdrop of falling blood rain, an obscene scene of a killing frenzy arose.
And when the seventh strike came down, the sturdy war hammer couldn’t withstand the impact and shattered in Murphy’s hand, leaving only the steel handle. Murphy grabbed the thing and pressed down on Helsun’s head attempting to rise, and with a ’poof’, pierced it into her remaining eye.
"I..."
A weak voice sounded with the dying life, but Murphy didn’t give the dying demigod more time, lifting his steel foot to stomp on Silver Wolf’s jawbone, turning her last words into a murmur of despair.
Before the ambush started, she was given a chance to speak her last words, but she herself did not cherish it!
Just like Old Su head had given her many chances before this tragic event occurred, the ambitious fool similarly didn’t treasure them!
If so, then die silently with regret and despair at the end of a disaster that should not have happened, dragged into the cold midnight where the soul finds no rest, filled with resentment and curses in the pervasive darkness, returning to the earth in a manner devoid of glory.
Oh, this death is dedicated to midnight...
The Master of Hunting maintained an unusual silence, despite the continued pouring blood rain, despite the werewolves madly charging the position in suicidal assaults, yet more divine power echoes were absent from this place.
"Should we pursue that God’s Chosen?"
Triss stepped forward and asked, but Murphy shook his head, saying:
"Huggesen is no longer an issue, as for The Master of Hunting... haven’t you felt it? He withdrew from earlier; God’s master fighting a deity war must have started, what a perfect timing!"
"Murphy, Murphy, my good friend, my collaborator..."
After everything settled, Mannis’s sneaky voice appeared by Murphy’s ear, asking:
"Earlier, the situation was crucial so I didn’t inquire for fear of affecting your explosive combat state today, but your adventure in the astral space..."
"Even Vam ditched his armor and fled; what do you think I, a pathetically little Silver Vampire, could have achieved under those circumstances?"
Murphy sighed, adopting an actor’s demeanor and lamented, saying:
"The man-made divinity was reclaimed by the Sentinel Corps, sorry, Mannis, I disappointed you."
"Ah, I don’t blame you; given the situation, one couldn’t demand too much. Rest well."
Mannis let out a long sigh, seemingly resonating with the failure, yet at the instant communication cut off, in the snake pit of the Star Realm, Crafty Serpent joyously wrapped itself into a bow and shouted beside Cui Tan:
"Quick, quick, quick! Next, come treasure hunting with me; the two of us will loot all treasures in the Star Realm..."
"Huh? Why?"
Old Turtle looked clueless, and Endless One did not explain.
Of course, it wouldn’t tell Cui Tan that Murphy had acquired a man-made divinity, such a staggering thing, hehe, the handsome vampire still wanted to deceive Old Mannis—isn’t it just the waiting game tactics?
I know, I know.
Is this giving me time to amass enough exchange items, right?
I understand. Well, next is a raid on the Star Realm, I’m definitely getting that divinity!
No one can stop this!
