Chapter 36 The Horror of the Yandere
Chapter 36 The Horror of the Yandere
Upon hearing Liu Zimu's words, Bae Joo-hyun's expression froze.
Liu Zimu could even hear his own heartbeat echoing in the empty practice room.
Like the prelude to a funeral march.
The main figure at the funeral was probably himself.
Bae Joo-hyun slowly released her grip on his collar and took a step back.
"Let you go?" She repeated those three words, her tone very soft. "Do you think I, Bae Joo-hyun, am the kind of woman who would just let you go if you begged?"
Liu Zimu's back was pressed tightly against the wall.
"I just feel... that continuing like this is not good for anyone."
"Who is it bad for?"
"To you, to me, to the truth."
Bae Joo-hyun blinked when she heard the word "truth".
It has a touch of orange-gold, which looks quite nice.
Wait, what am I thinking? This isn't the time to admire eyeshadow colors.
"You're right," Bae Joo-hyun said, but her expression was unreadable.
She took another step forward, blocking his escape route.
"Bae Joo-hyun, can't you talk to me like a normal person? Or should I take you to see a psychologist?" Liu Zimu pleaded.
"You think I'm crazy, right? Actually, I think I'm crazy too." She smiled very sweetly, "but I don't plan to get treatment."
"Because that way, I wouldn't be able to keep you by my side like Sulli did, checking up on you every day. Nor could I be like that woman Yoona, smiling at you all the while, only to devour you completely behind your back."
Liu Zimu was genuinely frightened; Pei Zhuxuan's condition was indeed quite alarming.
Bae Joo-hyun took another step forward, pressing herself tightly against Liu Zimu.
He had nowhere left to retreat.
Bae Joo-hyun braced her arms on either side of him, encircling him completely.
The standard wall-slamming pose.
But Liu Zimu was not tempted.
He felt as if he were nailed to a cross, and this female version of Jesus was about to judge his seven deadly sins.
"You can't escape." Bae Joo-hyun's voice was so low that only the two of them could hear it. "From the moment Choi Sulli started the war, you came to work. You are my destiny, Bae Joo-hyun's destiny."
"So, you're treating me like this because the truth has upset you?" Liu Zimu was on the verge of tears.
Bae Joo-hyun suddenly smiled.
He laughed loudly, the sound echoing in the empty practice room.
"Don't call her Jinri, call her Choi Sulli!" She stopped laughing, leaned closer to his face, and said, "At first, she did provoke me, but these past two days it's become me simply interested in you. And now, your idol is in front of you, shouldn't you do something?"
"Me? What would I do to you?" he retorted.
Bae Joo-hyun did not answer.
Her gaze moved from his eyes to the bridge of his nose, and then down to his mouth.
Then she reached out her right hand and gently touched the scar on his lip with her fingertips.
"This scar..." she frowned, her tone almost like she was talking to herself, "which bitch bit me like that?"
"It's just blisters from internal heat."
"A bubble?" She sneered. "Bubbles are round, these are teeth marks. Didn't you already admit you're a jerk?"
"I was just kidding, Bae Joo-hyun!"
"Fine." She released her grip and took a half step back, but before Liu Zimu could catch her breath, she continued, "If you don't tell me, I'll find out sooner or later. I, Bae Joo-hyun, keep my word. If anyone dares to lay a finger on the man I, Bae Joo-hyun, set my sights on, I'll slash their face with a knife."
Liu Zimu quietly moved two steps toward the door.
Bae Joo-hyun watched his actions without stopping him, simply crossing her arms with a smile that was hard to describe on her lips.
Just like a zookeeper watching over an animal in a cage.
"Don't even think about running away, you can't escape. I know where your coffee shop is, and I know when it opens and when it closes. Oh, and I also know you have a part-time worker named Jin Qiutian, she's quite cute, is she a trainee?"
"Don't touch Qiutian." Liu Zimu stopped in his tracks.
"You're quite responsible now," Bae Joo-hyun's smile deepened. "Don't worry, I'm not interested in young girls, I'm only interested in you as a person."
"Bae Joo-hyun, what is it you're doing this to me?" Liu Zimu finally asked the question that had been nagging at him for days. "There are so many outstanding men around you, why can't you date them? Is it just because Jinri said I'm your fan and is hostile towards you that you're torturing me like this?"
"I told you not to call her Choi Jin-ri!" Bae Joo-hyun shouted angrily, tears welling in her eyes. "Why can she block me? Why can she send me messages bragging about you to provoke me? Why can she become so nice?"
With tears in her eyes, she smiled again.
Bitter yet mad, beautiful yet chilling, absolutely amazing.
She paused for a second, as if trying to confirm why she had treated him that way: "Because of you, right...?"
She stopped, then suddenly hugged Liu Zimu tightly: "Being with you makes my blood boil every single moment."
Liu Zimu took a deep breath. "Cui Zhenli, aren't you just shooting yourself in the foot? Why did you provoke this crazy woman behind my back?"
Is it because most of my romantic fantasies in my past life were about Bae Joo-hyun?
This is insane!
He thought for a moment and then slowly said, "You don't actually like it, it's just that your high blood pressure is putting pressure on your brain nerves."
Bae Joo-hyun ignored him and continued holding him, saying, "You care about Choi Sulli because you pity her. But you have different feelings for me, I know that."
"What?" Liu Zimu was stunned. Did I have that?
"You both love and fear me."
Liu Zimu's lips twitched, and he thought to himself: I love you my ass!
"When you first met me, you liked me, didn't you? And then you were afraid of me, weren't you? This feeling of love and hate is wonderful!"
"Just because of this? Bae Joo-hyun, is this your understanding of different emotions?"
Bae Joo-hyun smiled sweetly: "Yeah, that's why I've set my sights on you. It has nothing to do with who your boyfriend is, where you're from, or what your status is."
"But I don't like you!"
"It's okay, I'll take it. Compared to Choi Sulli, what's wrong with me, Bae Joo-hyun?"
Liu Zimu shut up.
He had no idea what the logic was in that statement, but he felt it was pointless to argue about logic with someone who was mentally unstable, just like discussing the weather with a typhoon.
When Bae Joo-hyun saw that Liu Zimu was not speaking, she suddenly reached out and cupped his face in her hands.
"Just tell Choi Sulli you want to break up, okay? All you have to do is say it."
Liu Zimu just looked at her without saying a word, his eyes already showing a strange look.
"I'm giving you a week." Bae Joo-hyun held up one finger. "Within a week, you have to go from being Choi Sulli's boyfriend to being mine, or I'll do something that will embarrass everyone."
"Whatever, Bae Joo-hyun." Liu Zimu looked at her. "You're completely different from the Bae Joo-hyun I remember."
"Not the same person?" Bae Joo-hyun tilted her head, her voice as gentle as a lullaby. "Did I scare you? It's okay, I'll become the Bae Joo-hyun you know, okay?"
"It's none of my business!"
"Please don't be like that, okay?" Bae Joo-hyun panicked when she saw his expression turn cold. "I was just joking with you, I'll change right away, okay?"
Liu Zimu's mind was buzzing, and he couldn't help but feel irritated: "You've really gone crazy."
Bae Joo-hyun immediately burst into tears: "Don't make that face, it scares me."
Her body trembled: "I didn't mean to scare you, I just want you so badly..."
Liu Zimu made no move, but simply looked down at the dark moonlight who was burying her head in his arms.
Just as I was about to soften my heart...
Bae Joo-hyun stopped crying. She raised her head, her eyes icy cold: "If you ignore me, I'll lock you up and make you only see me every day!"
Well, old habits die hard!
Then she kissed him fiercely, with a defiant and crazy intensity.
